I have a cabin in Northern Ontario on the side of a hill that prevents the installation of a septic system. I bought one of these 10 years ago and had few problems. My only caution is to do the maintenance religiously. It took 10 years for poor maintenance to catch up and I have to replace mine. The step is rather small, so building a wider and stable step is useful.

Our first Sunmar NE is still going strong after 25 years but we needed another for our new house. There is no smell and no need to clean anything disgusting. You just turn the mixer drum to extract clean non-smelly compost every few months. Makes happy tomatoes.
