The Porta Potti® 345 Portable Toilet is a practical solution tailored for camping and outdoor use, offering essential features such as a piston pump flush, a sizable waste tank with level indicators, and a sealed valve to effectively control odors. Its lightweight design and ergonomic handle enhance its portability, while the removable seat and rotating pour spout add convenience. The build quality of this toilet seems excellent, and the design is simple and robust. We bought the model with the smaller (~3G) holding tank because we thought that a full 5G tank could be difficult to handle getting it out of our RV and dumping down a public restroom or pit toilet. Depending on your family/group size, and where you plan on using it, the 5G model might be handier. We're both small people, and the toilet sets at a nice comfortable height for us to use. I suppose if you're over six feet, it might be a little awkward, but it IS supposed to be portable. Why not just poop in the woods? Well, at many of our popular trailheads without pit toilets, the number of people who visit and poop in the woods without digging a cathole or carrying out their TP has left many of them looking and smelling like a malfunctioning septic tank. It's unsightly and disgusting, and unhealthy for the people and the animals who live there. Large groups visiting such areas can really help by using a toilet like this to limit the impact. Overall, I'd highly recommend this toilet.
Compact quality loo ideal for these days of public loo closures
Bought this to put in the back of my Ford C Max. Have previously had a higher model (about 30 years old, from when we had a campervan) installed due to the dire situation with public loos , cafs etc being closed, so we can have a long day out. The old one (165) fitted fine but lacked headroom. This is much better for us 5'6" people and the new design is much better. Real quality and spares readily available. Remove one seat at the back and straps in easily. One strap goes right round the midpoint of the loo, above the flange. Three other straps (I use bike toe straps) lash through this strap into the 2 seat mounting points at the front and lashing point at the back. Completely secure. Ready for any trips now without worry of getting caught short. Not such a problem for blokes maybe, but moreso for the ladies.
Great product rubbish childish name.
Well designed, clearly strong and durable. Superior lift/push down flushing action. Easy to use sliding opening. Precise easy to use Waste tank separating/connecting . Easy to clean quality plastics. Do need to reduce the prominence of the Out dated Childish product name. Porta Potty. We have taped/covered over this. Carrier bag needs to be discreet . The name....Thetford is enough to say quality.
Thetford Porta Potti 345 Qube Toilet Review
We have had this brand before and it lasted for 30+ years. If this one lasts even half as long it will be great. We have looked at other brands and feel this is the most suitable for our van. It slides perfectly under the end of our van bed.
