Gustavsberg
Gustavsberg traces its roots to 1825, when a porcelain factory was established in the community of Gustavsberg outside Stockholm, Sweden. Originally focused on tableware, the company moved into sanitary porcelain by the early 20th century, producing toilets and basins. In 1937, the Swedish Cooperative Union (KF) acquired AB Gustavsberg and expanded industrial production. Over the postwar decades the brand supplied bathroom fixtures across the Nordic region, with operations centered in Gustavsberg. The tableware and sanitary businesses later diverged; the bathroom operation continued under the Gustavsberg name. Today the Gustavsberg sanitaryware brand forms part of Villeroy & Boch, focusing on toilets, bathroom ceramics, and fittings for the Nordic market while maintaining operations in its historic Swedish location.
