YMMV ...Quality Control?
Can't believe this left the factory as new!! Opened the sealed box and found a 2" repair at the bottom of the bowl seeing this the trap-way is very questionable, came filthy with ceramic dust etc. (see pic) Yep, going back but since we don't drive was not easy to get now have to find a way to return. Purchased 2 "American Standard's 1.6gpf" 20 years ago and no issues just need to replace the compact one for chair height, maybe better to be safe rebuild the old one or save 50% and by Depot's MIC brand!! Damages understandable but sending repaired shipped as new!!
American Standard Toilet, One piece
AMERICAN STANDARD One Piece, Tall Toilet. I was disappointed that the RIM in the back area of Toilet, either with the seat up or down you can see an area that looks like someone missed to paint, spray, or cover the area, making it look as if it's dirty, but it's not. It's just an area that was not painted or treated. I bought another Toilet for another bathroom, this time I bought KHOLER, WHAT A DIFFERECE! Next year I will replace the American Standard Toilet with another KHOLER.
My order came 2 days earlier than promised..nice surprise. Good communication re: time of delivery. Very happy with this compact toilet and so much better in height than my old very low-sitting toilet. No concerns with 1.28 GPF flush, it's a powerful flush and takes care of business. Looks great in bone, matching my bathroom perfectly. My plumber installed easily without any problems. Very happy and satisfied with my purchase!
[Incentivized Review] Works well
I like the one piece mold. Less seals means less things can go bad. The soft close seat is also a nice touch. We’ve had it in about a week and have not needed any double flushes. When installed, I’m not much for reading instructions, but swear I had appropriate clearance but toilet was hitting the wall. I know my walls aren’t plumb, so definitely something to keep in mind if installing in a situation where plumbing is being routed according to the specs. Still went in fairly easy, but had me nervous on that first flush. I’d recommend this product
