Thetford
Thetford, founded in 1963 in Michigan, built its reputation in sanitation for recreational vehicles and boats. In the late 1960s it introduced the Porta Potti portable toilet, establishing a core product line in mobile sanitation. The brand broadened into cassette and permanent RV/marine toilets and developed holding-tank treatments and chemicals such as Aqua-Kem. Thetford operates globally, with worldwide headquarters in Etten-Leur, Netherlands, and North American headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2021 Thetford was acquired by Monomoy Capital Partners. Today it focuses on mobile sanitation systems and accessories—portable and cassette toilets, waste-holding tanks, and related chemicals—for RV, marine, and outdoor applications.
