Verdict
The OGO™ Origin composting toilet offers a practical solution for off-grid and compact living spaces, featuring a durable design and an odorless operation ideal for RVs, boats, and tiny homes. While it impresses with a sleek, modern aesthetic and solid build quality, its lack of traditional flushing and advanced features may not suit users seeking conventional toilet performance. The elongated bowl and easy installation add convenience, but absence of seat and flush mechanism could be drawbacks for some. Overall, it serves well as a hygienic, low-maintenance option for specialized environments where waterless sanitation is preferred.

This thing is brilliant Easy to use, clean and empty this unit is an essential addition for those who enjoy dry camping or utilizing provincial parks There was little to no odour for our two night camp, with the urine bottle being emptied once a day and the poop bag as we began to decamp. To be perfectly honest I was a little hesitant to spend this much on what is basically a bucket to poop in, but it is more comfortable than the Lugaloo and collapsible toilets out there, and at 6’4” and 235lbs I had no issues using it. Overall it appears to be well constructed even though some have complained about the hinges, it’s light and easy to carry and store I would highly recommend for anyone without an internal bathroom or even replace your existing black tank dependent loo. Finally a big thank to the customer service provided by cabin depot staff. Quite exceptional
Odour Free
I had an existing composting toilet that was already in my new to me home. I had an existing composting toilet that was already in my new to me home. It was massive and leaked, but it was enough to make me think twice about having a septic system installed and going the water flush route. After much research, I chose the OGO and will not be installing a septic system. This is so clean and simple and with the continuous running fan, there is never an odour. Typical bathrooms have the fan in the ceiling, so the odour has to travel the height of the room before being eventually drawn out of the room. This takes upwards of 10 minutes. With OGO, the exhaust is at the source of the odour, so it never bypasses the olfactory senses. Not only am I saving $20,000+ for septic installation and the space it takes up on my land, I am also creating fertilizer for my flower gardens at a cost of $50/year. This is far less than the cost just to maintain a septic system. I have emptied it once so far and it is so simple and the odour is just that of compost, not manure. I use peat moss now as that is what I had on hand. I may try the coco coir next as that is the most recommended substrate.
Great little portable toilet!
I’m pumped that Cabin Depot came through and had this in stock. I had ordered another similar one specifically for some upcoming trips in my small trailer. 2 of which I absolutely needed to bring my own. Unfortunately, they couldn’t ship it as previously promised and I was left scrambling. This OGO Nomad works great. Has a large capacity liquid container and the clips hold the bag nice and secure. I’m glad they included some coconut coir to try out. Will definitely use going forward. Zero smell,...

However, it is all very easy to clean and sanitize after use and for storage. Very impressed for the price. Wish it was slightly taller but for the price it is exactly what I need for my set-up.
Hi , My wife and I love the size and look of our new toilet. Design is appealing to look at and very functional. I only rated 4out of five because we have a problem with the urine fill indicator / compost stirring system. When installing the toilet to my 12volt system I first tested the voltage and the polarity of the of the circuit to which I was using and then connected the system directly to the 12volt circuit already in my boat. The red light immediately came on and stayed on. When the urine container was full the green light did not come on and indicate it was full and it overfilled. When I was investigating the the wiring inside the unit there were no loose wires that I saw. When I tried to activate the compost stirring I pushed the button for it with no response there’s light stays on constantly. I’m wondering if a failure of the urine tank sensor could be causing this issue? We have not been able to use the unit for any solid waste yet and would appreciate any assistance you could provide. Thankyou, Garry Lagos Phone [****]
