Grohe
Grohe traces its origins to 1936, when Friedrich Grohe acquired the Berkenhoff & Paschedag faucet factory in Hemer, Germany. The brand expanded from taps and showers into in-wall flushing systems, installation frames (such as Rapid SL), flush plates, and later the Sensia line of shower toilets. Grohe’s headquarters are in Düsseldorf, with manufacturing in Germany, Portugal, and Thailand. In 2004 it was acquired by private equity firms Texas Pacific Group and DLJ Merchant Banking Partners; in 2014 it became part of Japan’s LIXIL Group (alongside the Development Bank of Japan). Today Grohe focuses on complete bathroom solutions, including concealed cisterns, wall-hung toilet systems, and Grohe Ceramics toilets, as well as electronic hygiene features in its Sensia shower toilets.
