The reason I chose this toilet over the Nature's Head was twofold: price was $200 cheaper and you didn't need to slide the top part sideways to empty the bins. The reason I chose this toilet over the Nature's Head was twofold: price was $200 cheaper and you didn't need to slide the top part sideways to empty the bins. This was critical, as I needed the toilet to fit in a very small space and the Nature's Head requires you to have room to slide the top part off. I also liked the look of this one better - sleeker. But that's basically where the pro's end. For being $700, you would think it would have all the basic functionality sorted. First, the urine container does not sit perfectly flush with the trap so pee gets everywhere, especially while traveling (I use this in my Airstream trailer). There is no trap door or lid to keep the urine contained, nor is there a lid to put on when you are taking the bin out to empty it. Urine also ends up spraying into the solids bin, negating many of the positives of a compost toilet to begin with. The actual front spot where you pee is way too shallow and doesn't have enough of a divide between the solids area so you have to sit VERY far forward if you are female (this was clearly designed by men). The solids bin works fine and the compost material is good quality but I did end up beefing up the vent fan - the one that comes with the toilet is rather pitiful. It's also just terribly uncomfortable in general. Overall I'm just really disappointed that for $700 it's basically just a toilet-shaped bucket. I do not recommend this product and if I had the space would definitely switch to the Nature's Head. In the meantime, I plan to add some lines of caulk to the part that separates the liquids and solids to help alleviate the urine getting into the solids.  Read Less

I am very unhappy with my sun mar gtg for countless reasons There is no "trap door", so pee literally gets everywhere and into the solid waste bin every single time (without fail), which compromises the separation of solid and liquid waste. I have tried every angle and I have had to pee, stop, pee, stop (and it still gets into the solid waste bin!!!). I end up needing to keep peeing because I can't just sit and pee normally. I always feel like i haven't had a proper pee because i need to be overly attentive. I NOW HAVE TO USE A FUNNEL TO PEE IN THIS TOILET! This makes this product frustrating to use and unusable. I feel like i just completely wasted $700 (I am on a budget and needed a composting toilet for overall cost savings) and I feel cheated and as if I flushed my money down the drain.This product is $700 and doesn't even come with a vent hose (to ventilate smell) or a trap door to properly separate liquid and solid waste (which is 100% necessary for a composting toilet to function). No ergonomic seat, lid doesn't have seal or gasket to reduce smell. The pee hole splashes everywhere outside of the liquid container, so you have to constantly clean the bottom of the unit out, as it collects pee easily. The liquid container didn't even come with a lid, even though the liquid containers opening is already threaded!! The fan is cheap and barely works. I have so many other issues with this product. I've been using this full time for a month or so. I've tried several varieties of waterless or composting toilets, including the "bucket system." This toilet is the easiest to maintain, having no nobs or wheels or cranks or other protuberances inside or outside of the toilet. The design and slick material makes clean up a snap. Also, unlike some other systems, removing waste from the two containers is fast, easy on the back, and simple. The toilet is very sturdy, and sits quite solidly without rocking or tipping. It is also reasonably odor free, even for a clean freak like me. Odor is easy to control, with included venting, the frequency of disposing of the waste, and the type of composting cover used---coconut coir is good, absorbs moisture, smells earthy, but may scatter a bit; horse stall pine pellets are good, absorbent, smell pine-like, but are bulky; pet bedding is functional in a pinch, but may need disposal more frequently. There are design factors that are not apparent from photos. The sloped funnel area that separates liquid wastes from solid is not sloped enough, on both sides. This makes the liquids/solids separation indistinct, that is, it is less of a continental divide than it should be. So there is often liquid over-topping the divide in the solids side, or if you re-position yourself too far, God forbid, solids creeping toward the liquids side. Also, the liquids side is shallow to make room for the collection jug beneath. This helps keep the already tall toilet from becoming too tall, but it also means that for women, there is almost certainly some liquid splash back. (I create a more efficient slope by placing a 3/4" dowel under the bottom at the back of the toilet.) By the way, it is a tall toilet. I'm a 5'8" female and it is quite comfy for me. My sister, who has bad knees, is 5' 10" and loves the extra height. No knee pain at potty time! But I would think the height would be a bit of a stretch for a petite woman, and challenging for a small person. All in all, for full-time RVing, this is the best of the bunch of portable toilets. It is less expensive than all but the most primitive systems. And it is close to being in the Goldilocks zone of being "just right."  Read Less
