Defective manufacturing leads to leaky bolts
While the toilet is a good price and aesthetically pleasing, as soon as we installed it we noticed a slow leak from the left tank bolt. We re-tightened a smidge more by hand which mildly decreased the leak but it persisted. We removed the tank, reset it and re-bolted, still leaking from left screw. We switched the tank screws in the event the grommet was damaged. Left bolt still leaked. We got American Standard replacement hardware for the tank to bowl connection— left tank bolt still leaked. We...
While the toilet is a good price and aesthetically pleasing, as soon as we installed it we noticed a slow leak from the left tank bolt. We switched the tank screws in the event the grommet was damaged. Left bolt still leaked. We got American Standard replacement hardware for the tank to bowl connection— left tank bolt still leaked. We had a plumber friend look at it and confirm proper instillation and tightening…but found more water on the left bolt within hours. Slow leak as continued despite 4 days of: resetting tank, re-bolting, tightening bolts as much as possible going side to side as recommended, rotating bolts, switching bolts, installing new bolts and grommets, plumber assistance. And Lowe’s says they will not accept a toilet if it’s already been installed due to biohazard…waiting to try to hear from AS about refund or replacement for defective toilet. I had zero issues when I installed an AS toilet in another restroom of my home 2 years ago… Clearly there is a manufacturing issue at play rather than instillation issue.
Works and Looks Good
Giving it an initial 5 stars. Hopefully it holds up. Easy install and it comes with all the parts. The screws in the tank to the bowl have rubber sleeves to make it water tight. If your replacing an old model, the tank will probably slimmer. Looks good.
Easy Install
We are renovating what will be our retirement home and liked the idea of a chair height toilet. This toilet was easy to install and seems to be working well. I am amazed at the small amount of water used per flush. There was one small issue, I don't think it's a problem though. The attached photo is looking inside of the flange on the bottom of the toilet. Notice the small crack going to that small opening. I wouldn't have seen this if I hadn't followed the instructions and placed the wax ring on the toilet before setting it. I don't think this is causing any issues and the toilet operates fine.
[Incentivized Review] Water saver that looks great
This is a solid item for a great price. I needed a 10’ rough in toilet that saved water and didn’t take up a lot of space but looks great. Installation was simple. The wax ring had melted but likely to heat during transportation. I looked past that for an excellent product overall.
