Good dual flush water conservation system - clearly benefiting from incorporating insights gained via previous generations of low-flush toilets. Attractive & stable soft closing toilet seat. (Other earlier seat design allowed seat to rotate out of alignment.) Improved ease of installation with separate plastic mounting base allowing easy drop-in installation with mounting bolts completely concealed, but accessible. Good dual flush water conservation system - clearly benefiting from incorporating insights gained via previous generations of low-flush toilets. Attractive & stable soft closing toilet seat. (Other earlier seat design allowed seat to rotate out of alignment.) Improved ease of installation with separate plastic mounting base allowing easy drop-in installation with mounting bolts completely concealed, but accessible. (Negative: Whoever shipped the product chose to deal with slight damage to its standard cardboard shipping crate - by putting that crate in a larger box and entombing it in injectable spray foam insulation. This entailed a couple hours of carving away the foam with a bread knife just to expose the original cardboard packaging and leaving me with three large garbage bags of unrecyclable plastic foam - which certainly offsets much of the ecological value of the purchase!)
Flushing Mechanism for this toilet is total garbage!
Bought this toilet in November 2012. Initially, was happy - it is stylish and liked the dual flush. After approximately 18 months of use, a gasket inside the flush mechanism began to fail. The entire flush mechanism is made of cheap, flimsy plastic. My husband tried to figure out where the failure was occurring, but it is a closed piece that is impossible to pull apart without completely breaking it. Bought this toilet in November 2012. Initially, was happy - it is stylish and liked the dual flush. After approximately 18 months of use, a gasket inside the flush mechanism began to fail. The entire flush mechanism is made of cheap, flimsy plastic. My husband tried to figure out where the failure was occurring, but it is a closed piece that is impossible to pull apart without completely breaking it. After an afternoon of messing with it, we decided to replace the flush mechanism. That piece of plastic garbage costs $96 to replace! After paying approx $300 for the toilet, we had to spend another $100 for it to work after only 18 months!?! Well, low and behold after replacing that piece, it has been another 18-20 months and the REPLACEMENT HAS FAILED! I'm not spending another dime on this garbage toilet. We have ripped it out and have installed an American Standard toilet which has a 5 year warranty. I failed to read the Eago toilet only has a 1 year warranty - never again!
A big, expensive disappointment! Easy to keep clean though 1*
Bought this toilet from Build.com, about 2 years ago. It looked stylish, promised a lot & would fit so well in our 1/2 bath, but it didn't take long before the problems started. The maker promised that this toilet could handle quite a bit, before flushing, but not so! Ha, can barely squeeze down a little wad of paper, before it gets stuck! When plugged & using plunger, it leaks from underneath! The poor Plummer has been called back twice to repair & still same problems! Been a very costly toilet so far.....
Excellent quality, works just fine
The installation instructions are not the best, and I recommend making a template out of cardboard to get the mounting holes in the right place. Simply flip the toilet over and attach the mounting hardware and flange adapter. Transfer where the holes go and put the template on the floor. There are four holes that need to be drilled to mount this toilet. Get tile drill bits for the two sizes.
